Tidepost

Terms of Service

Cadmium Creations LLC

Effective: October 26, 2026. Version 2.0.

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Cadmium Creations LLC (“Tidepost,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a California limited liability company. They govern your use of the Tidepost mobile application and related services.

1. About These Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.

These terms apply to everyone who uses Tidepost: on the free days, with the Foundation, with Studio Membership, or with scholarship access.

2. Your Tidepost Account

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Please use a password of at least 8 characters. Do not share your login information. If you become aware of unauthorized use, contact us immediately at hello@cadmiumdev.com.

Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep it current.

3. Access, Purchases and Billing

What’s free

Days 1 to 14 of the Foundation, the Oculomotor Creative Reset, Need a Minute, Artist Days, the Library and the Weekly Letter are free for everyone, with no time limit.

The Foundation (Days 15 to 90)

The rest of the 90 days is a one-time purchase: $49 in the app (charged through the App Store or Google Play), or $44 on tidepost.app (charged by Stripe). It is yours to keep: a purchase never expires and never renews. Prices may differ outside the United States.

Studio Membership

Studio Membership continues the practice after Day 90 and includes the full Foundation. It is an auto-renewing subscription: $79 per year or $8.99 per month in the app, $69 per year or $7.99 per month on tidepost.app. Payment is charged to your App Store, Google Play or Stripe payment method at confirmation and at each renewal unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

How to cancel

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

  • iOS: Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Tidepost → Cancel
  • Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Tidepost → Cancel
  • Web: Settings, Access & Membership, Manage subscription, or email hello@cadmiumdev.com.

We will never make cancellation difficult. No guilt trips, no hidden steps.

Refunds

App Store and Google Play purchases follow those platforms’ refund policies. Web purchases are refunded on request within 14 days, no questions asked: email hello@cadmiumdev.com from the address on your account.

Access codes

Gift, cohort and institutional access codes are single-use. A code grants the Foundation and, for institutional codes, Studio Membership through the end of the license term. The buyer or institution can see how many codes were redeemed, never who redeemed them.

Payments are purchases

Cadmium Creations LLC is a for-profit company. Nothing you pay Tidepost is a donation, and nothing is tax-deductible.

Price changes

We will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price increase. You may cancel before your next renewal if you disagree.

4. Scholarship

If you can’t afford it, it’s free for you. Tap the link on any purchase screen. It grants the full Foundation and Studio Membership at once, with no proof, no questions and no follow-up, and nothing in the app ever shows whether access was paid for or not. Scholarship access never renews, never expires and is never charged.

5. Your Creative Work Belongs to You

You retain full ownership of all creative work, images, text, reflections, studio logs, and any other content you create or upload through the Service.

Limited License

To operate the Service, you grant Tidepost a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to store, display, create thumbnails of, and back up your content. This license exists solely to operate the Service and terminates when you delete your content or account.

What We Will Never Do

  • Sell, license, or distribute your content to any third party
  • Use your content for marketing without explicit written consent
  • Claim ownership of your content
  • Use your content to train AI or machine learning models
  • Display your content to other users without your explicit opt-in
  • Retain your content after you delete it (beyond 30 days for backup rotation)

If we ever materially change how we handle your content, we will provide at least 90 days’ advance notice and offer a full refund of any unused subscription period.

6. Tidepost Content and Museum Collections

The Service, including its curriculum, lesson text, design, code, and trademarks, is owned by Cadmium Creations LLC and protected by intellectual property laws.

Museum artwork displayed in the app comes from open-access programs (including The Metropolitan Museum of Art) under Creative Commons Zero (CC0) and may be used by anyone. Tidepost is not affiliated with or endorsed by any museum.

Some classical artworks shown in the app include artistic nudity, as they have for centuries.

7. Affiliate Links and Recommendations

Tidepost participates in the Amazon Associates Program and the Bookshop.org affiliate program. Every recommendation is selected for its relevance to the lesson and genuine value to artists. Affiliate commissions never influence which books we recommend.

As an Amazon Associate, Tidepost earns from qualifying purchases.

Some lessons also recommend art materials through the Blick Art Materials affiliate program, only in a lesson’s Resources section, only materials the lesson uses, and never in the lesson text itself. Affiliate links are labeled where they appear.

8. How the Curriculum Is Made

Lesson text is drafted with AI assistance, checked against the primary sources it cites, and edited line by line by a working artist before it ships. The app itself has no AI features: no generated images, no chatbot, no AI writing tools, no synthetic voice and no algorithmic recommendations. Your work is never used to train anything.

9. Copyright Protection (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the DMCA. To file a takedown notice, contact our DMCA Agent at hello@cadmiumdev.com with the required information including identification of the copyrighted work, the infringing material, your contact information, and good-faith and accuracy statements.

If your content was removed by mistake, you may submit a counter-notice. Accounts with three or more valid, uncontested takedown notices may be terminated.

10. Acceptable Use

Use Tidepost for its intended purpose: building your creative practice. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload abusive, harassing, or threatening content
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
  • Use bots or scrapers (accessibility tools are permitted)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer any part of the Service

11. Limitation of Liability

Tidepost is a creative practice and educational tool. While our curriculum draws on principles from cognitive behavioral therapy, the Service is not a medical or mental health service. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please seek support from a qualified professional.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50).

12. Dispute Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting hello@cadmiumdev.com. We agree to spend at least 30 days attempting resolution.

These terms are governed by California law. Disputes shall be brought in state or federal courts in California.

You may opt out of the class action waiver by sending written notice to hello@cadmiumdev.com within 30 days of accepting these terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We will notify you at least 30 days before material changes take effect. If you disagree, you may close your account before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service constitutes acceptance.
